Featuring a seven-star energy-efficiency rating and a raft of environmentally friendly features, the Alto Trio H321 by Formas Accommodation offers a highly efficient home in a visually attractive package.
According to Formas’ John Longhurst, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom modular display has double-glazed, thermally-broken windows, R3.5 ceiling insulation and shading verandas and eaves to protect it from the hot afternoon sun and keep internal temperatures comfortable.
Fans and top-hung windows help with cross ventilation requirements, while solar hot- water systems, water-efficient fittings, low-energy lighting and bamboo flooring further bolster the home’s green credentials.
A key concern with the Pilbara Display Village has been to display affordable housing options and Mr Longhurst said the speed at which the Alto Trio could be built helped keep prices down.
“Our innovative, patented packing techniques allow the houses to be easily and cost-effectively transported on the back of a truck to wherever they’re needed, without the need for an escort vehicle, which means financial savings for buyers,” he said.
“A Formas house can be ready to move into within weeks of the relevant approvals being received, compared to a year or more with traditional housing.
“That delivers a significant cost saving to families by drastically reducing the time they have to rent while their home is being built.” Mr Longhurst said the company’s modular homes offered “premium apartment-style living”, which made them particularly attractive to younger couples or families.
“They boast bamboo flooring, high-end finishes in the bathrooms and kitchens that have open-plan designs, and air-conditioning,” he said.
While the Alto Trio has 120sqm of internal floor space, Formas also offers Duo and Quad configurations, which have 80sqm and 160sqm of space respectively.
The Alto Trio costs approximately $480,000 for the full turnkey packages, which includes landscaping, paving, double carport, gazebo, storeroom, solar hot-water system, air-conditioning, fans, and even a letter box and a clothesline.
